1. Scope of service

CarbBench provides carburetor component bench service in Vero Beach, Florida. Service is performed after the carburetor has been removed from the machine. Normal service may include:

• Disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
• Jet and passage verification
• Component inspection and compressed-air cleaning and drying
• Reassembly of serviceable components
• Installation of customer or dealer supplied replacement components
• Recording or restoring appropriate as-received or baseline settings

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, CarbBench does not provide complete vehicle or equipment repair or diagnosis. We do not normally diagnose the complete engine or machine, remove or install the carburetor, diagnose ignition, compression, intake or vacuum problems, diagnose fuel delivery outside the carburetor, perform vehicle-specific final tuning, or verify operation on the customer's complete machine.

2. No guarantee of machine repair

A dirty, damaged, incorrectly adjusted, or malfunctioning carburetor may be only one possible cause of an engine or equipment problem. Carburetor service is not a diagnosis of the complete machine, and CarbBench does not guarantee that service will correct starting, running, idle, performance, fuel-delivery, or other reported symptoms.

The customer or installing technician is responsible for diagnosis, installation, adjustment, synchronization where applicable, final tuning, leak inspection, and verification of safe operation after installation.

3. Pre-existing condition and damage

Used carburetors may arrive with corrosion, oxidation, contamination, stripped threads, seized fasteners, brittle plastic, hardened rubber, damaged seals or floats, broken castings, cracked fittings, improper prior repairs, missing, incorrect or modified components, internal wear, and damage hidden by dirt or corrosion. Disassembly and cleaning may reveal damage that was not visible before service.

CarbBench is not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear, deterioration, incorrect prior repairs, missing components, or latent defects that were not caused by CarbBench. Aged or fragile components may fail during ordinary handling and service. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for damage caused by CarbBench where applicable law does not permit that exclusion.

4. Cleaning and disassembly risks

Service inherently involves disassembly and cleaning of used mechanical components. Aged, corroded, seized, previously damaged, or improperly repaired components may fail or reveal damage during normal service. If significant unexpected damage is discovered, CarbBench may stop work and contact the customer before proceeding.

5. Customer-supplied parts

CarbBench does not source or purchase replacement components as part of standard service. Customers and dealers may provide rebuild kits, gaskets, O-rings, jets, needles, floats, valves, or other replacement components. The customer is responsible for selecting and supplying components appropriate for the application.

CarbBench may identify obvious incompatibility or quality concerns, but does not warrant the quality, authenticity, suitability, durability, or fitment of customer-supplied components. Failures caused by defective, incorrect, counterfeit, incompatible, or poor-quality supplied components are the customer's responsibility.

6. Settings and tuning

CarbBench may document and restore as-received settings where appropriate. Those settings are not necessarily factory-correct or suitable for the customer's configuration. Restoring an existing setting is not a representation that it is correct.

Final idle and mixture adjustment, synchronization, jetting and fuel-level verification where applicable, and vehicle-specific tuning remain the responsibility of the customer or installing technician unless specifically included in the agreed service.

7. Fuel and shipping preparation

For mail-in service, customers must drain gasoline before shipping. CarbBench does not authorize shipment of carburetors containing gasoline. Customers are responsible for carrier rules and applicable laws when preparing and shipping packages. CarbBench may refuse or delay improperly prepared packages. Do not ship fuel or use unsafe methods to dispose of it.

8. Inbound shipping

The customer is responsible for proper packaging, inbound shipping, accurate contact information, an accurate return address, and tracking or insurance if desired. Subject to applicable law, CarbBench is not responsible for loss or damage occurring before receipt. Carrier operations outside CarbBench's control remain subject to the carrier's procedures.

9. Return shipping

Return shipping is charged to the customer unless otherwise agreed. Tracking will be provided when available. Once a properly addressed package is transferred to the carrier, carrier loss, delay, theft, or damage is generally handled under the carrier's procedures and any applicable shipping insurance. This does not exclude responsibility for CarbBench's own packaging mistakes or incorrect addressing.

10. Additional work and authorization

Normal service covers the agreed service. Severe corrosion, broken or missing components, seized hardware, significant prior damage, unusual configurations, or additional labor may be outside that scope. CarbBench may pause work and contact the customer. Additional charges will not be incurred without customer authorization where authorization is reasonably required. CarbBench may decline work that cannot reasonably or safely be completed.

11. Payment

CarbBench currently uses PayPal Business for online invoicing and payment. The final amount may include service charges, authorized additional work, and return shipping. Payment may be required before return. PayPal processes online payment information, so CarbBench does not need to directly collect or store payment-card information when payment is made through PayPal.

12. Unclaimed property and nonpayment Draft

Customers are responsible for timely communication and payment. CarbBench may hold property pending payment where legally permitted. No specific disposal, sale, or abandonment deadline or policy is established by this draft. TODO: obtain Florida legal review before adopting any such policy.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CarbBench will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from a component sent for service, including loss of use, lost profits or revenue, towing, rental equipment, downtime, missed events, labor performed by third parties, or damage caused by unrelated machine problems.

These terms do not attempt to exclude gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot legally be waived. Any responsibility that remains under applicable law is limited to that responsibility. TODO: a qualified Florida attorney should advise whether CarbBench should include a monetary liability cap.

14. Safety after service

Carburetors are fuel-system components. Before normal operation after installation, the customer or technician is responsible for checking fuel leaks, throttle operation, proper installation, fuel-line connections, and safe engine operation.

15. Photos, video, and documentation

CarbBench may photograph or record carburetors, components, their condition before, during, and after service, disassembly, cleaning, inspection findings, reassembly, damage, wear, contamination, corrosion, unusual findings, and general shop or bench-work activities involving the submitted carburetor.

These media may be used for work-order and condition documentation, internal records, training and education, CarbBench.com, social media, advertising, promotion, before-and-after examples, and demonstrations of CarbBench processes and services. Submitting a carburetor constitutes agreement that the carburetor and work performed on it may be photographed, recorded, published, and used for these business purposes. CarbBench does not promise that every job will be photographed or published.

CarbBench owns the photographs and video it creates, subject to applicable law. This does not transfer ownership of the carburetor, trademarks, or other customer-owned property shown in the media. CarbBench will make reasonable efforts not to intentionally publish home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, payment information, shipping labels, or other non-public personally identifying information. Identification markings, model or part numbers, serial markings, modifications, damage, and other component characteristics may be visible when relevant.

16. Governing law and disputes

CarbBench operates in Florida. No additional governing-law, venue, arbitration, mediation, attorney-fee, or dispute-resolution provision is established here. TODO: obtain Florida legal advice before adding one.

17. Changes to terms

CarbBench may update these terms for future services. The version and effective date applicable to an existing service order are the terms agreed for that order; later website changes do not retroactively alter that agreement.
